In the 1920's, Henri GOUGES acquired most of the vineyards that now constitute the estate located in Nuits-Saint-Georges. His sons, Marcel and Michel, took over the business in 1967 and developed the estate to create a surface area today of 15 hectares. In 1985, with Pierre and his cousin Christian, the 3rd generation took over the estate, joined in 2003 by Gregory, Pierre's son. The whole estate now uses organic farming methods with controlled yields, and the sorting of the grapes, harvested by hand, is extremely rigorous. The Gouge family consistently produces sound, mineral and profound Nuits-Saint-Georges wines, which offer an exceptional balance that allows them to perfectly stand the test of time.
