Domaine PELLETIER-HIBON is located in Poncey, a hamlet of Givry, and has been family-owned for over a century.
The 7 ha of vineyards produce quality wines which regularly pick-up awards. Luc Hibon (born in 1969) has only chosen the profession of wine producer fairly recently. When he married Karine, the daughter of Henri PELLETIER, a wine grower in Givry, he decided to give up his job in sales and convert to winemaking out of love. In 2001, he went into partnership with his father-in-law, creating Domaine Pelletier-Hibon. Henri retired in 2005, and Luc and Karine Hibon have taken up the mantle...
They decided to grow their vines sustainably, using methods taken from organic growing, but have not sought certification in order to retain their freedom of choice. The grapes are picked by hand and then destalked for a vinification process in open concrete tanks that involves as little intervention as possible. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels used for 1 to 3 fills.
The Givry Red 1er Cru "Le Vigron", aged exclusively in oak barrels, is the Domaine's pride and joy. This full-bodied wine can be regularly found on the dining tables of the French Assemblée Nationale.
