Domaine Albert Givault is located in Meursault. This 6-hectare domaine was created by Albert Grivault in 1879. At the age of 23, this visionary young man became the owner of the "Clos des Perrières" monopoly right in the middle of the phylloxera plague. This small 1-hectare plot is today unanimously considered to be the best Meursault 1er cru plot.
His grandson, Michel Bardet, now heads the domaine with his daughter, the current manager. The domaine covers a little over 6 ha including Clos des Perrières' 94 ares, to which must be added the Meursault Perrières 1er Cru, Meursault, white Bourgogne, and white Pommard 1er Cru Clos. The domaine's white wines are remarkable, exceeding the quality of the grands crus.
