The estate
In 1986, Marie-Christine ANDRIEU and Pascal VALADIER decided to take over 6 hectares of leased vines to set up on their own. Twenty six years later, through hard work, innovation and investments in the vineyard to respect their strict quality policy and environmentally-friendly approach, they now run two Domaines - Domaine Valand and Domaine Le Renard. Domaine VALAND has 22 hectares of vines cultivated organically and certified by Ecocert since the 2010 harvest. Domaine Le Renard consists of 65 hectares of sustainably grown vineyards. These two Domaines are located in the heart of the southern Côtes du Rhône, in Travaillan, near the Châteauneuf-du Pape and Gigondas appellation areas. Most of the vineyards are planted on clay-limestone soil primarily covered with smooth pebbles («galets roulés») and are made up of Grenache (average age: 40 years), Syrah (25 years), Carignan (25 years), Cinsault (25 years), Viognier (15 years), Marsanne, Roussanne and Merlot.
