The estate

The Domaine was created in the early 1900's when Mr. Besson moved to Emeringes, a small village in the north of the Beaujolais region. Albert Morel, his grandson, set up there in 1967 when he took over his grandfather's vineyards. At that time two appellation wines were produced on 4 hectares: Fleurie and Beaujolais-Villages. In 1968, Albert sold his first bottles of wine. His son, Dominique Morel, a trained oenologist, and his wife Christine, took over the running of the Domaine in 1991. The Domaine continued to expand and today covers 18 hectares, which includes the addition of Domaine Larèpe, previously owned by Christine's mother. 12 appellations are now produced in 8 district areas. The Domaine's investment in quality has been recompensed by the numerous medals and awards it has received over recent years.
